Tornado of June 7, 2008

This evening a strong front came through the northern Illinois area spanning into northwest Indiana. Funnel clouds and tornadoes were sighted from as far southwest as Pontiac, IL up through Hammond, IN. Shortly after the tornado hit Hammond, IN it dissipated. Massive devastation has been seen in the wake of this storm and subsequent path.

The following photos were taken from the 3700 block of 42nd Place near Kleinman Road this evening at approximately 7pm 06/07/2008. The view is looking north toward the Hessville section of Hammond and the western section of Gary. Click on the image below to see the photos in a larger size.

Video and Photos of August 15, 2007 Storm

I went out for a few hours this morning and took a ton of photos of the destruction throughout Highland. You can see them here: by clicking on this text.

During the Storm
The video is poor due to the dark of night, but the audio is quite scary. In this video, one of the biggest wind gusts that came with a crash of thunder. The wind knocked me over as I was filming from inside the screen door.
